Decreased blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye causes this type of vision loss and it is not clear whether generic Viagra or sildenafil is the cause of this kind of vision loss. Sudden vision loss after taking generic Viagra or sildenafil has occurred most commonly in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or certain pre-existing eye problems. • Before taking generic Viagra or sildenafil you should inform your doctor if you have:
  • a history of heart attack,
  • heart rhythm disorder,
  • or stroke in the past 6 months;
  • heart rhythm problems or heart disease;

  • congestive heart failure;

• Usually generic Viagra or sildenafil is taken only when needed, about 30 minutes to 90 minutes before sexual activity. On sexual stimulation, this medication can help achieve an erection. Just taking this pill will not cause an erection.
• A person should not take generic Viagra or sildenafil more than once a day, 24 hours should be allowed to pass between doses.
• This medicine should be stored at room temperature and away from moisture and heat.

What happens if a person misses a dose?

• Generic Viagra or sildenafil is used as needed, hence a person is not likely to miss a dose.
• If a person misses a dose of Revatio, the missed dose should be taken as soon as the person remembers. What durg or drugs may interact with generic Viagra or sildenafil?

Generic Viagra or sildenafil should not be taken if you are taking the following medications:

• nitroglycerin-type drugs for the treatment of heart or chest pain such as isosorbide dinitrate, nitroglycerin, amyl nitrite, isosorbide mononitrate, even if these are only occasionally taken

Generic Viagra or sildenafil may also interact with the following medications:

• alpha blockers, used for treatment of high blood pressure or an enlarged prostate. NOTE: Do not take doses of sildenafil higher than 25 mg within 4 hours of taking alpha blockers, such as doxazosin (Cardura®), alfuzosin (UroXatral®), terazosin Hytrin®), or prazosin (Minipress®).
